Bloedel Donovan Park

Located on the west side of Lake Whatcom, Bloedel Donovan Park is a popular park for residents of Bellingham. It boasts many amenities including outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, picnic tables, playgrounds, swimming and multiple fields. A great place for children and family’s, Bloedel Donovan park caters to all ages and interests.

Whatcom Falls Park

Whatcom Falls Park is one of Bellingham’s most beautiful areas. The park has many amenities including trails exhibiting the gorgeous falls, picnicking areas for rent, multipurpose trails and a children’s fishing pond. It’s a great place to go for a walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. 

Civic Field Skate and Dirt Park

The Civic Field Skate and Dirt Park is a great place for skateboarders and BMX bikers to come and practice riding. On rain free days year round the park is open to the public. Perfect for riders of all ages, it attracts a range of activity and skill level.

Lake Padden Park

Lake Padden Park, located on the south end of Bellingham is a great place for walking, biking, running and other recreational activities. Trails surround the lake as well as playground, fields and a golf course. It’s a great place for residents to lay in the sun when it’s warm or go on a walk when its chilly.

Sehome Arboretum

The Sehome Arboretum is a unique area of Bellingham where the public can enjoy beautiful, preserved nature. Trails wind up and around the arboretum ranging from flat areas to fairly steep hiking. Animals like deer, squirrels and many birds can be spotted around. It’s a great place to go for a leisurely walk, or to get some good exercise.

Marine Park

Marine Park is a great place to view Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands. With a few picnic tables, the park makes for a great place to watch the sunset or go for a quiet walk. Situated right on the water, visitors can enjoy the salty breeze and quiet crash of waves. 

Cornwall Park

Cornwall Park, located off Meridian Street and Corwall Avenue is one of Bellingham’s most popular multipurpose parks. With many amenities including playgrounds, picnic facilities, basketball and tennis courts, trails, barbecue grills and more, it is a great place for families, sports fans, or anyone who likes to be outdoors.

Big Rock Garden

Sitting right above Lake Whatcom, Big Rock Garden is one of Bellingham’s most unique parks. The garden is full of original art sculptures by a variety of artists scattered amongst walking trails. The natural scenery and peaceful atmosphere make this a wonderful place to enjoy art and the outdoors.

Elizabeth Park

Elizabeth Park, located near the Lettered Streets is a quaint park complete with a gazebo and fountain. With its pretty landscaping and calm atmosphere it is a great place to go for a walk or have a picnic. Other amenities Elizabeth Park offers are tennis courts and a playground for children.

Fairhaven Park

Fairhaven Park is a great community asset for all ages. Complete with barbecue grills, multipurpose fields, a playground, basketball and tennis courts, it provides entertainment and recreation for residents all over Whatcom County.

Fairhaven Village Green Park

The Fairhaven Village Green is located in the midst of quaint downtown Fairhaven. This unique area includes a lawn surrounded by benches and community businesses. At the front of the lawn is a stage with outdoor movie screen. The Village Green adds flavor to the community of Fairhaven and provides fun gathering place for residents.

Little Squalicum Park

Little Squalicum Park is a small strip of land right on Bellingham Bay. Its semi-hidden entrance is located on the corner of Eldridge and Lindbergh Avenues keeps it quiet and private for most visitors. This is the perfect oasis for watching the sunset over the bay or for playing in the sand during the summertime.

Clark's Point Park

Clark’s Point is a diverse environment with beach access, forested trails and breathtaking views. With two trails leading to separate viewpoints, Clark’s Point has something to offer for everyone. The beautiful natural setting is fun for anyone from children to avid outdoorsman.

Samish Park

Samish Park, located on Lake Samish is a multipurpose park complete with a playground, boating and swimming areas, picnicking facilities, fishing, hiking and much more. This park is great for families, outdoor lovers, or large groups.

Woodstock Park

Woodstock Park, also known as Woodstock Farm is a tract of land running along the waterline connecting Teddy Bear Cove and the Chuckanut Bay Greenway. This area is a great place to observe tidelands and marine life as well as birds and other animals.

Maritime Park

Bellingham’s Maritime Park is commonly known for its fish hatchery, is located downtown by the bay. The park includes grassy fields with picnic tables and barbeque grills and a playground for children. Its unique placement by the water makes it a fun and interesting place to spend an afternoon in the sun.

Bellingham State Parks  

Larabee State Park

Larabee State Park is located off Chuckanut Drive, on the southernmost border of Whatcom County. This area is filled with recreational and scenic opportunities including fishing, clamming, boat launch, picnicking and much more. Many visitors of Larabee park enjoy simply walking the beach and taking in the amazing scenery.
